Student Interactive Session organized by Prerna Cell
A special student interactive session was organized by the Prerna cell, NSS, IIT Roorkee on Wednesday, 2.10.2013, from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. This was an attempt by the students of IIT-R ,Prerna Cell to promote knowledge among the children about our two great national leaders, Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri.
The session began with a quiz round with questions related to the two great freedom fighters. Around fifty students participated in the event with great ardency. This general knowledge test involved a highly active participation of all the kids as small prizes and chocolates proved to be incentives. It was followed by an eassy-writing competition, in which the children were asked to write an essay on Gandhiji, which they did with great enthusiasm. The event coordinator Abhishek Chaurasia ( Secretary of Prerna Cell ), then delivered a short description of Gandhiji’s life to foster a sense of pride and inspiration and patriotism among our young generation. First and Second prizes were given to the children for their outstanding performances.
On the whole, the session turned out to be a great success to spread knowledge about our freedom
fighters as well as to instill a sense of national pride on this auspicious occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
