NUKKAD NATAK

NUKKAD NATAK ORGANISED BY AWARENESS CELL
Thomso’13 is not all about fun and play and does have a social obligation  towards the
society. NSS,IIT Roorkee RT awareness cell took it upon itself to create awareness
among  the fresh minds that attended the event by organising a play against prevailing
corruption  in Indian politics and how the current generation can create a brighter
future by exercising their voting rights better.
NSS MEMBERS PERFORMING THEIR PLAY
The play was held at the U.G
floor and started at 10:45 A.M.
The members of  NSS dressed
in white started the play calling
out to the people and soon an
eager crowd gathered around
them to watch a play which
later proved itself to be  worth
every second of their time.

What made the play different was that it packed a humourous punch while giving
a voice to their social agenda. Humourous scenes where four ministers reach a
princess swayamvar and try to win her over by boasting of their malpractices
such as bribes, riots, buying votes gave the crowd something to laugh about. The
play also highlighted the current trend of the Indian youth who treat the voting days
just as a holiday and urged them to instead see it as a chance to weed out corruption
by choosing a right candidate based on his merits and not his caste or state of origin.

PARTICIPANTS AMONG THE RUSH OF VIEWERS
The members of the play had been practicing days before start of the Thomso’13
and it was the result of their hard work   the play became successful.
