 The NSS team is here, this time with fresh minds and rejuvenated enthusiasm. Abiding by the motto, “ Not for me, but for the Nation ”, NSS IITR has and will continue to organise various activities for social welfare aimed to achieve a dual target: spreading goodwill and instilling values of compassion and benevolence in the young minds along with uplifting the society and alleviating its grievances.

The NSS IITR blog is back, after a brief hiatus, bringing to you all the updates on the activities of NSS IIT Roorkee.

Adhering to the motto, “Not for me, but for the nation”, NSS IITR, have spawned a plethora of schemes for social welfare. From providing free tuition to underprivileged children to spreading awareness in nearby villages, organizing Blood donation camps, AIDS awareness camp, motivational lectures on Human values, NSS IIT Roorkee is performing a tremendous work for the betterment of the society.

NSS IITR continues to thrive in the Roorkee campus, spreading goodwill and instilling values of compassion and benevolence in the young minds.  Under the able leadership of the core team, we persist in realizing our vision of making this world a better place.

Sun rises and sets, seasons come and go, but eventually return back, returning even strongly than ever before. With this we present you back, the blog of National Service Scheme IIT Roorkee initiated to highlight the progress of National Service Scheme to a wider audience.

This is not a single blog post, but it’s just a start, a start to promote and motivate people towards this noble deed, a start to convey the tremendous work done by NSS IITR. After ages...

              Long time since this page saw any activity, but no other day and no other moment could have been better than this day and this time to revive this log. As is the tradition of the world, you come and then, you have to go, making way for fresh faces, bright, shiny and dreamy eyes, bringing in their revolutionary thoughts to make an impact on the society with this new given responsibility and role. Everyone special, everyone talented and everyone who has a spirit to do something for others and their betterment. Mind it this is never charity that I am talking about, we're not in that business, no no, we don't pity people, instead we give them the confidence and faith to stand up and make their own place in this big world.I like the word EMPOWERMENT.

announcing New Executive Team for the year 2009-10

With the great satisfaction driven from achievements of NSS IIT Roorkee activities this year and a little sadness for leaving such a nice team mates and NSS which made me to realize my potentials, I would like to thank you all team mates from all years(1yr, 2yr, 3yr, 4yr). Without you people NSS would not have achieved great heights that it possesses in people's hearts now. I apologize for being harsh at times. I hope you can understand that all that we have done is not having any personal agony but for a cause, for NSS, for the Nation.

After seeing an overwhelming majority of students interested in working for NSS, for the Nation, I can proudly say we had achieved what we aimed for this year, namely "motivating students to work for social cause(NSS)" may not be by giving motivational lectures but by showing the real picture of the rural India or the real need of the hour.

Now we are almost at the end of the year and need of the hour is new executive team for the upcoming year. We were so satisfied to see overwhelming response from 2yr students to carryout responsibility of different NSS activities. In keeping view of the hike in the no.of new activities that come up this year organization structure of NSS have been departmentalized into three different departments namely, Administration or Oncampus activities, Rural Transformation and Communications. And to give the flexibility for expansion of NSS into new areas or activities Executive committee and to bridge the gap between B Tech students and PG Students on the campus, while helping in activities PG Advisers have also been selected .
